I really wanted to like Sweeto Burrito. I have been going there since they opened but they cannot seem to get their act together. There is always something wrong with the food. Rice is overcooked, meat is chewy and dry, food is missing a sauce or has way too much, or beans are undercooked. It is always some combination of screw ups. Also, why do they call their chicken "white chicken" when it is dark meat chicken with fat attached? Good concept - horrible execution. Too bad. Would be nice to get something better than Taco Bell in town.

Sweet Burrito recently opened a store in Grand Forks near the Altru hospital. The restaurant includes burritos of various types, that sport names such as the 'All American', 'Big Country', 'Bronco', 'Buff Chicken', and 'Carne Assasin', among others. They are relatively large and have various combinations of meat, cheese, potatoes, and veggies. I ordered the Carne Assassin as I like spicy food and this burrito includes sriracha sauce inside. Well, let's just say I was severely disappointed with my first trip to this restaurant. The store was not that busy at the beginning of our dining experience. My burrito was both cold and tasteless. Being cold is a fatal flaw; being tasteless is an insult to my dining experience. It blows my mind that a restaurant can make a big burrito that does not taste good. This outfit should learn from Qdoba, which at least knows how to make reasonably good fast food-like burritos. Also, as this store is new, one would think they would be on their best service. That was not the case. As a result, I will not be dining here. There are other, better options for dining in Grand Forks. NOTE: This restaurant has announced its closing.

I have been going to Sweeto Burrito regularly ever since they opened because I love the flavors of the sauce. However, the burritos are always inconsistent. Every time I get one it's either huge or really tiny. Sometimes it is dripping with sauce and sometimes it's mostly rice. Usually the rice is either over cooked or stale (I'm thinking it's probably the latter). Sometimes it tastes like they put waaay to much lime in the sauce and it's sour. I think the key to success for any restaurant is good management that sets an example of consistency and good quality food. Are there recipes for these burritos and their ingredients? They really should be made the exact same way every time. Are the ingredients being properly prepared and maintained with quality in mind? Do the employees take pride in their work? Please get it together so this place doesn't go out of business and I can enjoy the food.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. However, the rice was over cooked and mushy, the burrito was goopy and flavorless, and the pork came with a large piece of connective tissue and fat attached. I went back a second time, and got a different burrito, just to see if there was any difference. There was not. It was very disappointing.

This was the worst food I have ever eaten. I am not over exaggerating. It was like a tortilla filled with a mushy substance containing 90% sour cream (which I enjoy in normal circumstances). Hands down the most horrific meal in grand forks. And just in time for Halloween.

So, sweet burrito is West-mex, but it's pretty delicious. I always go for the "hot chick"-- unfortunate name, but buffalo sauce and tater tots are a win in my book. I wish that you could add tots to other burritos, then I might try something new. Check it out: best fast food in GF.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
